Approximately 65–70% nickel and 20–29% copper make up the majority of monel, a class of nickel-based alloys, with trace amounts of iron, manganese, carbon, and silicon. Monel sheets and plates have a tensile strength of 480 MPa to 620 MPa and are well-known for their strength and resistance to corrosion. They remain stable in a wide range of temperatures and are resistant to corrosion in a variety of environments, including acidic ones and seawater. Cold-working can improve their mechanical qualities, which makes them perfect for uses requiring chemical resistance and durability.
