Stainless Steel 316H Channel is a high-carbon version of SS 316 that has a higher carbon content (0.04–0.10%) for enhanced high-temperature strength, along with 16–18% chromium, 10–14% nickel, and 2–3% molybdenum. In applications involving higher temperatures, this composition improves tensile strength and creep resistance. SS 316H has a good elongation of about 40%, a yield strength of 205 MPa, and a tensile strength of about 515 MPa. The alloy is appropriate for critical environments with high heat, pressure, and corrosive media because of its exceptional resistance to pitting, oxidation, and general corrosion.
