Stainless Steel 3CR12 is a ferritic stainless steel alloy containing about 11–12% chromium, low carbon (maximum 0.03%), and trace amounts of manganese, silicon, and molybdenum. The mechanical properties include a typical tensile strength ranging from 450 to 550 MPa and a yield strength of around 280 MPa, along with good toughness and weldability. While 3CR12 cannot be hardened through heat treatment, it can be cold worked. This makes it a cost-effective choice compared to pricier stainless steels for applications that require moderate corrosion resistance and structural integrity.
