Carbon steel with regulated amounts of manganese, phosphorus, sulphur, and silicon is commonly used to make boiler quality plates. DIN 17155, IS 2002, and ASTM A516 Gr. 60/70 are examples of common grades. These plates have outstanding weldability, good impact resistance, and high tensile strength (usually 415–620 MPa). BQ plates have a fine grain structure for better mechanical behaviour and are made to function at high pressures and temperatures. Long-term performance and safety in settings with heat, pressure, and corrosive media are guaranteed by their composition. Depending on the needs, thicknesses can vary from 6 mm to more than 100 mm.
