The main component of A286 Alloy, an austenitic superalloy that can be precipitation-hardened, is iron. Tiny amounts of titanium, vanadium, and aluminum are also added, along with 24–27% nickel, 13.5–16% chromium, and 1–1.5% molybdenum. It has outstanding resistance to oxidation up to 700°C and a remarkable tensile strength of ~965 MPa and yield strength of ~585 MPa. Additionally, A286 offers good workability, creep resistance, and ductility at high temperatures. It is a very dependable material for applications involving extended mechanical and thermal stress because it can be solution annealed and age-hardened to improve performance.
