Aluminium 1070 is a high-purity alloy with a composition of about 99.7% aluminium. It possesses excellent electrical and thermal conductivity, very good corrosion resistance, and extremely good formability. Mechanical properties consist of 70–130 MPa tensile strength, yield strength of approximately 30–60 MPa, and elongation to 35% based on temper. Though the mechanical strength is low, it can be cold-formed, brazed, and welded with ease. Aluminium 1070 Sheets and Plates are best suited to applications in which conductivity, ductility, and resistance to corrosion are necessary but structural strength is not needed, so they find extensive use in specialized industrial and electrical environments.
