16–18% chromium, 10–14% nickel, and 2-3% molybdenum are added to SS 316/316L/316Ti coils to improve corrosion resistance. While 316Ti is stabilised with titanium for improved high-temperature performance, 316L is a low carbon variety that offers superior weldability. The yield strength is roughly 205 MPa, the elongation is 40%, and the tensile strength is between 515 and 620 MPa. These materials are appropriate for chemical and marine environments due to their exceptional toughness, formability, and resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion.
