ASME SA 387 Grade 11 is composed of about 1.00–1.50% chromium and 0.44–0.65% molybdenum, along with controlled amounts of carbon, manganese, silicon, phosphorus, and sulfur. These alloying elements contribute to remarkable resistance against high-temperature corrosion and enhance creep strength. Class 1 plates have a minimum yield strength of 275 MPa and a tensile strength ranging from 415 to 585 MPa, while Class 2 plates offer a higher yield strength of 310 MPa and tensile strength between 450 and 620 MPa. Both classes are normalized and tempered to ensure optimal performance in pressure-retaining equipment under prolonged thermal and mechanical stress.
