Chromium (11.5–13.5%) and a low carbon content make up stainless steel 410/410S coils and slitting coils. Whereas SS 410S, which has less carbon, offers better formability and weldability, SS 410, which has more carbon, offers more hardness and resistance to wear. These grades show about 550 MPa of tensile strength, 250 MPa of yield strength, and 20–30% elongation. These coils are perfect for welding, forming, and fabrication in high-stress and corrosive environments because they have good mechanical strength and moderate corrosion resistance.
