Usually, Grade 1 to Grade 5 titanium is used to make titanium coils and slitting coils. While Grade 5 (Ti-6Al-4V) offers superior strength (~1000 MPa) with excellent fatigue and fracture resistance, commercially pure grades 1–4 offer excellent corrosion resistance and moderate strength (tensile strength ~240–550 MPa). Each grade has a low density of 4.5 g/cm³ and a melting point of about 1668°C. These coils have outstanding formability, weldability, and biocompatibility. For consistency and durability in crucial installations, every product is precisely slit and either cold-worked or annealed, depending on the application.
