Commercially pure titanium (about 99.2%) with trace amounts of oxygen, nitrogen, hydrogen, carbon, and iron makes up Titanium Grade 2 Coil. With a tensile strength of about 344 MPa and a yield strength of about 275 MPa, it provides moderate strength and outstanding resistance to corrosion. The material has an elongation of about 20% and is ductile, lightweight, and weldable. It is the best option for applications needing a blend of strength, corrosion resistance, and workability due to its high melting point (1665°C) and exceptional strength-to-weight ratio.
