A nickel-chromium-iron alloy, Inconel 601 Angle is made up of nickel (58–63%), chromium (21–25%), and iron (balance), with trace amounts of aluminium (1–1.7%) and other elements. Even at temperatures as high as 1200°C, this composition provides exceptional resistance to oxidation. Mechanically, Inconel 601 has a yield strength of about 300 MPa, a tensile strength of 600–750 MPa, and an elongation of about 30%. It has good machinability, thermal stability, and outstanding creep and rupture strength. Because of these characteristics, it can be used for structural elements in corrosive, high-temperature, and industrial environments.
