About 50–55% nickel, 17–21% chromium, 4.75–5.5% niobium, and 2.8–3.3% molybdenum make up Inconel 718, a precipitation-hardenable nickel-chromium alloy that also contains titanium, aluminum, iron, and trace elements. Outstanding resistance to oxidation, carburization, and corrosive agents is offered by this complex blend. It maintains mechanical integrity under high-temperature conditions with a yield strength of approximately 1,000 MPa and an ultimate tensile strength of 1,250 MPa. The alloy is perfect for fabrication in extremely demanding environments because it also has exceptional weldability, fatigue, creep, and thermal-fatigue resistance.
