Both grades have tensile strengths between 485 and 620 MPa and a minimum yield strength of 345 MPa. When exposed to the atmosphere, the steel forms a protective rust layer that stops further corrosion and removes the need for painting. A588 steel has excellent toughness and structural integrity, is completely formable and weldable, and is perfect for exposed applications in challenging environments.
