Duplex Steel S31803, also designated as UNS S31803, is a duplex stainless steel alloy composed of 22% chromium, 5–6% nickel, 3% molybdenum, and balanced iron, with trace amounts of nitrogen, manganese, and silicon. This unique composition blends the beneficial properties of both austenitic and ferritic steels, providing excellent pitting, stress corrosion, and general corrosion resistance. Mechanically, it features a yield strength of 450 MPa, tensile strength of 620 MPa, and elongation of approximately 25%. It is highly weldable and maintains structural integrity under high-stress and corrosive environments.
