About 22% chromium, 5%–6% nickel, and 3% molybdenum make up Duplex Steel S32205, a nitrogen-enhanced duplex stainless steel alloy. Iron and trace elements make up the remaining composition. Excellent resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and corrosion caused by chloride is offered by this composition. Its dual-phase microstructure combines the ductility of austenitic steel with the strength of ferritic steel. Mechanical characteristics include a 450 MPa yield strength, a 620–850 MPa tensile strength, and a 25–40% elongation.
