Medium carbon steel EN9 Sheets and Plates contain between 0.50 and 0.60 percent carbon, 0.50 and 0.8 percent manganese, and trace amounts of silicon, sulphur, and phosphorous. EN9 plates have a tensile strength of approximately 600–800 MPa and are well-known for their high tensile strength and resistance to wear. They can be heat-treated to increase their strength and show good machinability. EN9 is appropriate for medium-duty mechanical components because it offers moderate ductility and impact resistance. Depending on the finish and heat treatment conditions, its Brinell Hardness can range from 180 to 240 HB.
