The primary alloying elements of Haynes 25 Foil, a cobalt-based superalloy, are cobalt (about 52%), chromium (about 20%), tungsten (about 15%), and nickel (about 10%). At temperatures as high as 980°C, this composition provides exceptional strength and resistance to oxidation. Mechanically, Haynes 25 has a high tensile strength (up to about 1240 MPa) and good ductility, which allows it to form into thin foils without breaking. Under thermal cycling, it continues to exhibit outstanding resistance to creep and fatigue. For crucial, heat-resistant applications, the alloy is a preferred material due to its stability at high temperatures.
