Aluminium is added to Inconel 601, a nickel-chromium-iron alloy, to increase its resistance to oxidation at high temperatures. About 61% nickel, 23% chromium, 14% iron, and trace elements like carbon and aluminium (1.4%) make up its normal composition. It provides outstanding creep and stress rupture properties along with a tensile strength of approximately 550 MPa to 760 MPa.
