A precipitation-hardened variant of Monel 400, Monel K500 is mainly composed of nickel (approximately 63%) and copper (30%), with titanium and aluminium added. Strength and hardness are greatly increased by these additions. Monel K500 has outstanding fatigue and stress-corrosion cracking resistance, with tensile strengths ranging from 965 MPa to 1100 MPa and yield strengths of about 690 MPa. The alloy is appropriate for high-stress and corrosive environments, such as offshore and marine applications, because it maintains Monel 400’s corrosion resistance while offering superior mechanical qualities.
