The carbon steel alloy SA515 Grade 60/70, which is mostly utilized in boilers and pressure vessels, is renowned for its strength and resistance to heat. With optional additions of silicon and copper, its chemical composition consists of up to 0.30% carbon, 0.90–1.30% manganese, and trace amounts of sulfur (≤0.035%) and phosphorus (≤0.035%). While Grade 70 offers tensile strength of up to 483 MPa, Grade 60 offers tensile strength of 379–517 MPa and yield strength of 207 MPa. The material guarantees strength, weldability, and dependable performance in high-temperature operations with an elongation of 20% in 200 mm.
