The typical composition of stainless steel 15-5 PH, a martensitic precipitation hardening alloy, is 15% chromium and 5% nickel. It has exceptional mechanical strength and toughness in both longitudinal and transverse directions, and it contains trace amounts of copper. It has good corrosion resistance and a tensile strength of up to 1380 MPa. Additionally, the alloy has good fabricability and minimal distortion. Heat treatment can harden it, giving it excellent ductility, high strength, and resistance to stress corrosion and cracking.
