With 18–20% chromium, 8–12% nickel, and no more than 0.03% carbon, stainless steel 304L is a low-carbon variant of SS 304. Because there is less carbide precipitation during welding due to the lower carbon content, welded structures are more resistant to corrosion. SS 304L circles have outstanding ductility and toughness, with tensile strengths ranging from 485 to 620 MPa and yield strengths between 170 and 240 MPa. The alloy is perfect for applications requiring robust, corrosion-resistant, and simple-to-fabricate stainless steel components because it is non-magnetic when annealed and has good formability, weldability, and oxidation resistance.
