The austenitic alloy known as stainless steel 305 has a maximum carbon content of 0.12%, 10.5–13% nickel, and 17–19% chromium. Its corrosion resistance and formability are improved by the increased nickel content, especially for deep drawing applications. With a tensile strength of 480–620 MPa and outstanding ductility, SS 305 is perfect for parts that need a lot of shaping or forming. In the annealed state, it retains its non-magnetic qualities and good weldability. The alloy is appropriate for applications needing corrosion resistance and ease of fabrication due to its well-balanced mechanical properties and exceptional cold-working qualities.
