Composed of 24–26% chromium and 19–22% nickel, stainless steel 310 is an austenitic alloy that exhibits remarkable resistance to oxidation and high temperatures. Additionally, it has silicon, manganese, and a low carbon content (maximum 0.25%), all of which improve strength and weldability. At high temperatures, SS 310 provides outstanding creep resistance and a tensile strength of 520–750 MPa. While its austenitic structure guarantees stability, toughness, and good mechanical performance in both cryogenic and high-heat applications, its high chromium and nickel content makes it appropriate for harsh thermal environments.
