In order to improve its strength at high temperatures, stainless steel 310H, an austenitic alloy with 24–26% chromium and 19–22% nickel, has a higher carbon content (0.08–0.15%) than SS 310. At temperatures as high as 1100°C, it offers outstanding resistance to oxidation and scaling. It has good creep resistance and ductility, and its tensile strength ranges from 515 to 700 MPa. Long-term heat exposure does not alter its microstructure, preserving its toughness and weldability. Applications needing continuous mechanical performance in challenging, high-temperature conditions are particularly well-suited for SS 310H.
