The austenitic stainless steel alloy used to make Stainless Steel 310S Foils has a low carbon content (~0.08%) to improve weldability and lessen carbide precipitation. It is composed of 24–26% chromium and 19–22% nickel. High tensile strength (~520 MPa), yield strength (~205 MPa), and approximately 40% elongation are all provided by these foils. Particularly at high temperatures up to 1100°C, SS 310S demonstrates exceptional resistance to oxidation and corrosion. It is appropriate for applications involving extreme heat and cyclic thermal exposure because it retains structural integrity under thermal stress and is non-magnetic when annealed.
