With 16–18% chromium, 10–14% nickel, 2–3% molybdenum, and additional titanium (usually five times the carbon content), stainless steel 316Ti is a titanium-stabilized variant of SS 316. Titanium offers superior resistance to intergranular corrosion by preventing carbide precipitation during welding. At high temperatures, SS 316Ti angles retain their good ductility and toughness while offering a tensile strength of 500–700 MPa. In environments with a lot of chloride, this alloy also shows outstanding resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion. It is appropriate for applications requiring a lot of pressure and heat because of its strength, resistance to corrosion, and stability at high temperatures.
