The austenitic stainless steel alloy known as Stainless Steel 321 Angle is stabilised by titanium (at least five times the carbon content), nickel (9–12%), and chromium (17–19%). Particularly after welding, this titanium addition improves resistance to intergranular corrosion. At temperatures as high as 870°C, SS 321 exhibits outstanding resistance to scaling and oxidation, as well as a tensile strength of about 515 MPa and a yield strength of about 205 MPa. The alloy is perfect for pressure vessels and high-temperature structural applications because it maintains good mechanical properties and has good weldability in high-heat environments.
