The austenitic stainless steel alloy known as Stainless Steel 321H Angle is mainly made up of 17–19% chromium, 9–12% nickel, and a higher carbon content (0.04–0.10%) than regular 321 for increased strength at high temperatures. In order to stabilise the alloy and stop carbide precipitation, it also contains trace amounts of titanium (≥5 times the carbon content). At high temperatures, this composition provides outstanding resistance to oxidation and intergranular corrosion. Mechanically, 321H is appropriate for high-temperature structural applications because it has a tensile strength of roughly 515–750 MPa, a yield strength of 205 MPa, and an elongation of roughly 40%.
