Chromium (17–19%), nickel (9–12%), and a higher carbon content (up to 0.10%) make up stainless steel 321H sheets and plates, a high-carbon variant of SS 321. Its creep resistance and high-temperature strength are enhanced by the increased carbon content. In addition to having good formability and ductility, SS 321H normally has a tensile strength of 515 MPa and a yield strength of 205 MPa. Because of its improved mechanical qualities, it can function well in temperatures higher than 538°C.
