The austenitic stainless steel alloy known as Stainless Steel 347 Channel has 9–13% nickel, 17–20% chromium, and columbium (niobium) for stability. Niobium improves resistance to intergranular corrosion by preventing carbide precipitation during welding. SS 347 has outstanding high-temperature strength, a yield strength of about 205 MPa, and a tensile strength of about 515 MPa. Even in harsh conditions and high temperatures, it maintains its good mechanical qualities.
