The austenitic stainless steel alloy known as Stainless Steel 347 Foil is stabilised against intergranular corrosion by the presence of 17–20% chromium, 9–13% nickel, and columbium (niobium). Because of this stabilisation, there is no chance of carbide precipitation when it is used in high-temperature settings. SS 347 has a yield strength of about 205 MPa and a tensile strength of about 515 MPa. It is appropriate for welding, heat-resistant fabrication, and corrosive environments because it has good creep strength, outstanding oxidation resistance, and retains structural integrity in high temperature applications.
