The main constituents of stainless steel 348H sheets and plates are 17–20% chromium, 9–13% nickel, and a higher carbon content (0.04–0.10%) for high-temperature strength. Tantalum and columbium (niobium) stabilise them, preventing carbide precipitation during thermal exposure or welding. Excellent resistance to oxidation and intergranular corrosion is provided by the material. Tensile strength ranges from 515 to 690 MPa, and yield strength is roughly 205 MPa. Additionally, in environments with persistently high temperatures and harsh chemical exposure, these sheets and plates maintain their mechanical integrity and offer superior creep resistance.
