Titanium Grade 5 (Gr5), also known as Ti-6Al-4V, consists of 90% titanium, 6% aluminum, and 4% vanadium. This alloy offers excellent mechanical properties, including a tensile strength of approximately 950 MPa and a yield strength around 880 MPa. It has an elongation of about 10-15% and a hardness of roughly 36 HRC. Gr5 provides a superior strength-to-weight ratio, is corrosion-resistant, and maintains mechanical stability at high temperatures. These properties make it the most commonly used titanium alloy in high-stress and high-performance applications across various demanding industries.
